I noticed the board is acting funny today. I know it was really having problems yesterday, so probably no big deal. For one thing the spell checker keeps wanting to correct words with the exact same thing. Maybe it's because I cut and pasted it from word?
Let's put it this way... the server was experiencing massive load yesterday (see that number at the bottom).. the system has 4 CPUs so a load of 4 or less is great.. things are being handled in a timely manner. Well, it got over 65 yesterday. Then, support for whatever reason recompiled Apache (the application that serves the webpages) with a newer version of PHP4 while at the same time either removing or due to some misconfiguration, I cannot use PHP5 anymore at the moment. Well... some things don't work exactly the same in PHP4 vs PHP5.
Right now I am trying to see if support can get PHP5 with the MYSQLI extension back on the system or configure Apache to have the ability to use it.
During all this, at one point I could not login into the FTP server to actually make any changes to anything.. they ran a script to correct that.
Overall, one big cluster Fudge. ;D
Well, after going back and forth off and on yesterday with support, things seem to be back to normal. I can use PHP5 again with the MYSQLI extension which now lets me log into my Gallery website. The final bit was resolved earlier this morning that will let me use my PHP.INI file to use my custom PHP configurations. :monkey:
Guess just have to wait a while and hope it all doesn't go keerplop again. LOL
LOL.. they just rebooted the server again:
Server Load Averages Past Minute: 3.24, Past 5 Minutes: 3.34, Past 15 Minute: 2.26
Server Uptime 15 min, 0 users
I was about to open another support ticket... but, looks like it's working again. Server was having problems resolving host names/domain names (last time this happened was in August 07). My service status script was taking 88 seconds to complete. Now it's back down to 0.05 seconds. I think me and Terry were the only ones to experience it.
