All,

I finally checked the default mail address for my hosting account, which is where all the bounce-back mails would go when the forum sends out a mail (at least it seems).

Three addresses have had problems.  Lew and Terry's back back in the February and March timeframe...

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
recipients after more than 24 hours on the queue on sh102.surpasshosting.com.

The message identifier is:     1HTuaU-0005g7-81
The subject of the message is: Topic reply: What are you looking for
The date of the message is:    Wed, 21 Mar 2007 06:46:22 +0000

The address to which the message has not yet been delivered is:

(Lew and Terry's email address would be here)
Delay reason: SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
    host f.mx.mail.yahoo.com [209.191.88.247]: 421 Message from (66.7.194.99) temporarily deferred - 4.16.50. Please refer to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/defer/defer-06.html

No action is required on your part. Delivery attempts will continue for
some time, and this warning may be repeated at intervals if the message
remains undelivered. Eventually the mail delivery software will give up,
and when that happens, the message will be returned to you.

Some were delayed up to 72 hours, but I think they finally did go through.  I haven't got any from Lew's or Terry's since then so maybe it's working okay with Yahoo now.

But, emails being sent from here to John's address are being detected as spam:

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  John's address is here
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
host mail.idabelps.org [64.218.183.72]: 554 Sorry, message looks like SPAM to me

------ This is a copy of the message, including all the headers. ------
(snip)

Anyway, I'm going to change the email address that the forum sends from and send out a broadcast email to all the forum members to see what happens.   You might need to tell your ISP John that email coming from pelicar.info is legit email and not to block it or consider it spam.  Might be some option to add it to your whitelist within your ISP's mail settings.
